TPL Piedmont
The Service Agreement
Passenger transport service on the two former suspended lines Cuneo-Saluzzo-Savigliano and Ceva-Ormea, part of LFS – South Basin Railway Lines, returns thanks to the Service Contract signed between the Piedmont Mobility Agency and the railway company Longitude Holding S.r.l., which operates under the commercial brand Arenaways. An agreement with an initial duration of ten years, from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2034.
The Service Contract governs the mutual obligations between the Piedmont Region and Longitude Holding S.r.l. and regulates the transportation service methods, i.e., the services and basic standards that Arenaways must guarantee; it defines the operating schedule, times, stops, fares, and the suitability of rolling stock; sets criteria to be met in terms of regularity and punctuality, safety, comfort, cleanliness, information, and customer assistance.
Arenaways is committed to providing the transport service in accordance with the indicators defined by the Piedmont Region and to improving its performance for constant growth in terms of quality.
The service on the Cuneo-Busca-Costigliole-Verzuolo-Manta-Saluzzo-Savigliano line was reactivated in 2025, after 12 years of suspended connections, and now includes up to 28 trains a day with coverage from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The route spans approximately 47 km on a non-electrified single-track line, with 6,280 trains traveling annually, totaling 246,651 km/train over the twelve months. The schedules have been designed to facilitate transfers with the regional rail network, connections to Turin Caselle Airport, and bus services.
The connection on the Ceva-Nucetto-Bagnasco-Pievetta-Priola-Garessio-Trappa-Eca Nasagò-Ormea line will be reactivated upon completion of the infrastructure restoration and strengthening works by the network operator, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana RFI. Once operational, the service will connect the upper Val Tanaro with the rest of the Piedmont railway system, integrating the currently available bus services and significantly reducing travel times.
There will be up to 10 trains per day, totaling 2,320 trains per year and 85,948 km/train over twelve months. The schedules will be adjusted to facilitate transfers with the regional railway system and bus connections… and we can't wait to welcome you onboard!
